Meet Shellwyn: The First Step Into The Winberrie Journals

Today is a very special day. I finally get to introduce you to Shellwyn, the first story in the world of The Winberrie Journals. She has lived in my imagination for years, drifting in and out like a tide that never fully leaves. Now she is officially here, and you can read her story for yourself.

Shellwyn is available now on Kindle: https://a.co/d/1z6jflY

If you have been waiting to step into the Winberrie world, this is your beginning.

What is Shellwyn About?

Shellwyn is a short prequel that takes place before our main character, Danny Finnegan, ever arrives in the magical forest. It follows Shellwyn in her own world, along a quiet shoreline filled with ancient magic and the memories of something lost.

This story is:

  • Soft but emotional

  • A little haunted, but still full of hope

  • Rooted in friendship, identity, and the gentle ache of change

It is the whisper before the adventure.

The tide before the storm.

The memory before the journey begins.

If You Like These Books, You May Love Shellwyn

Readers who enjoy fantasy with heart, atmosphere, and character depth will feel right at home.

If any of these are on your shelves, this story is for you:

  • The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

  • The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black

  • Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

  • The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

  • Percy Jackson (for the feeling of stumbling into something ancient and powerful)

Shellwyn is written for readers who love worlds that are magical, but also deeply meaningful.

Why Shellwyn Matters in the Winberrie Series

The Winberrie Journals is a story about grief, healing, and growing into your own magic. Each character you meet along the way represents something Danny must learn in order to move forward.

Shellwyn is the first emotional compass of the series.

She is the beginning of understanding.

She is the heart before the adventure.

When readers meet her again in Awakening, they will already know what she carries. They will feel the weight behind her choices. Her presence in the larger story becomes even more powerful once you have seen where she came from.

Start the Journey

Releasing this story means the world of Winberrie is no longer something I am only imagining. It is real now. It belongs to all of us.

Read Shellwyn on Kindle:

If you read it, I would love to know which moment stays with you.

Every story is shaped by the reader as much as the writer, and I cannot wait to hear your thoughts.

Thank you for being here at the beginning.

We have only just stepped into the forest
